• Currently, research focus is directed toward:
• Development of chitosan antimicrobial films and coatings
• Production, characterization, and applications of chitosan films and fibers
• Development of extraction procedures and characterization of chitosans from fungal biomass
• Application of ultrasound for enhanced extraction and modification of chitin and chitosan from shrimp waste
• Extraction and characterization of Lentinus edodes b-glucans
